Star Trek Novel
Unwritten (Fanfiction - X-Men)
Title: Unwritten
Author: slash4femme
Pairing: Charles/Erik
Universe: X-Men (original trilogy)
Rating: PG-13
Warning: past violence, disability, chronic pain, complicated intimacy
Summery: years of war take there toll and some of Erik's scars are physical
Disclaimer: I do not own the characters or the setting only the plot is mine.
Notes: not beta'd sorry. This can be read as taking place in the post- Days of Future Past in the newly retconned "modern" universe. Honestly you could probably read this with an eye to the comic books too though. My version of the movie verse characters tend to bleed into comic books characters a little bit.

Once and Future (Fanfiction-X-Men)
Title: Once and Future
Author: slash4femme
Pairing: Charles/Erik
Universe: X-Men (original trilogy)
Rating: PG
Warning: none
Summery: quiet evenings together on the couch.
Disclaimer: I do not own the characters or the setting only the plot is mine.
Notes: not beta'd sorry. Written because I needed some post- Days of Future Past, newly retconned "modern" universe fluff.
even more cherik fic stuff
Sex Worker/Modern AU with older Charles/Erik kind of going from the premise of what it would have been like if Charles and Erik hadn't met until later in life. With a kind of spy/political intrigue twist.
OR
Modern AU with younger Charles/Erik focusing on their respective disabilities where they are both academically inclined roommates.
more cherik fic idea
Edit: I'll probably do it anyway though.
cherik fic ideas
I also have some of the snippets I wrote on Tumblr that I want to put together into an actual fic, plus an idea that also got kicked around on Tumblr that I have a couple pages written of already. I keep working on them a little bit and them putting them away, coming back to them, putting them away again. I do need to finish something at some point though.
that one moment of quiet

I'm just putting up this picture of Charles drinking tea and reading a book because I have it. While this entire story arc was deeply fucked this is a bittersweet moment I actually loved.
this is to say ...

This is to say that mutantmasterofmagnetism on Tumblr pointed out how much it looks like Charles is wearing a skirt (maybe a dress) here and now I have to deal with Charles in a skirt/dress feelings.
Me, Fandom and Jessica Jones
Jessica Jones is all about women and characters of color, in a way that is both unapologetic and also in your face. These are real people with real flaws, who struggle in real ways against real odds.
White man appear in this story as villains or bit players and that's pretty much it. They have no power outside of being the villains, their actions don't matter again outside of them being the villains of the story. There is no apology made for this, it isn't softened. Let's be real both Killgrave and Sampson are not just villains they are villains who manipulate and eventually threaten the lives of the women and people of color around them.
I know already that this is going to be hard for fandom. There is a high possibility that Jessica Jones is going to make fans face a lot of stuff about how they think about gender and race. That's possibly going to get pretty ugly. Already I've seen people are saying stuff about Jessica Jones they would never have said about Daredevil. Jessica Jones is a race and gender fail waiting to happen within fandom and people will probably learn from that, but I' don't want to be around when it happens.

Matt Murdock and Thurgood Marshall
"Democracy just cannot flourish amid fear. Liberty cannot bloom amid hate. Justice cannot take root amid rage. America must get to work. In the chill climate in which we live, we must go against the prevailing wind. We must dissent from the indifference. We must dissent from the apathy. We must dissent from the fear, the hatred and the mistrust. We must dissent from a nation that has buried its head in the sand, waiting in vain for the needs of its poor, its elderly, and its sick to disappear and just blow away. We must dissent from a government that has left its young without jobs, education or hope. We must dissent from the poverty of vision and the absence of moral leadership. We must dissent because America can do better, because America has no choice but to do better." -Thurgood Marshall 1992.
I have no doubt that shortening the Thurgood Marshall quote Matt reads (which a paraphrasing of the above quote) was meant to save time on the show. It’s a long hunk of texted and would have cluttered up the dialog.
On the other hand the writers of the show left out the political and social commentary within Thurgood Marshall’s speech. The urgency to take action against suffering, corruption and apathy is lost in the shortening.
Which is a pity because I think it informs Matt’s character maybe more than the quote use on the show.
Marshall meant this to be a call to action and, given who Matt is, I’m sure he read it as one.
Review of Ant Man
It was a fun movie, I enjoyed watching it a lot. There were some genuinely funny moments. They changed canon in this movie probably more than any other, but realistically they had no other choice. The canon around ant-man had aged badly, to say the very least. In the end I was satisfied with what they did (except for the part about Janet.) The story telling scenes were awesome, I love the way they were done.
All this being said Tor.com asked if Ant-Man was a necessary part of the MCU canon? I would say no, it wasn’t. The movie didn’t really add anything to the MCU mythos or world building.

On a lighter note
Which I think is hilarious and still gives me a chuckle because mpreg is not a kink of mine and I've written maybe two mpreg fics since 2004. But that's how I am remember in the annuls of the internet.
